Plano, Texas – Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 – InTouch Credit Union (ITCU), a member-focused financial institution, has made a contribution of $10,000 to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), bringing its total donations in the Texas market to $163,400. This donation is part of the ongoing “You and Us, Fighting Hunger Together” campaign, a community-driven initiative that leverages member engagement to combat food insecurity in the local markets ITCU serves.
Launched in 2022, the campaign channels a portion of revenue from new loans and credit or debit card purchases directly into food banks affiliated with Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. Every dollar donated through this effort can help provide the equivalent of three meals, demonstrating the powerful collective impact of everyday financial transactions.
“It’s easy to forget how many families in our own communities are struggling to put food on the table,” said Gloria Smith, SVP Branch Operations/Chief Branch Officer at InTouch Credit Union. “That’s why this campaign means so much to us—because it turns something as simple as using your debit card into real support for a neighbor in need. We're honored to be part of a solution that brings people together in such a meaningful way.”
Food insecurity continues to affect a significant number of Americans. In 2023 alone, an estimated 47.4 million people, including 7.2 million children, faced challenges accessing sufficient nutritious food. With its $1 million pledge, ITCU’s campaign aims to help provide over 3 million meals, making a meaningful contribution to hunger relief.
Members of ITCU actively support the campaign through their everyday financial activities. Each time members take out a new loan or make purchases using their physical ITCU debit or credit cards, including through digital wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay, they help fund the campaign. These simple actions transform into tangible support for families and individuals in need.
To date, the campaign has made significant strides, including $163,400 in donations to the North Texas Food Bank and others in Michigan and Nevada.
